North Fair Oaks Menlo Park Exemplifies Value and Desirability

Written by David Roberson, Esq. on . Posted in Landlords, Menlo Park, Non-Owner Occupied Properties, Property Management, Silicon Valley Real Estate Investing

AA NFO 5This beautiful unincorporated Menlo Park neighborhood is made up of two sections, The Avenues and Fair Oaks Acres. In general, the largest lots and homes are located in Fair Oaks Acres. In The Avenues, you’ll find homes of about 5,000 square feet on lots that are typically a bit smaller than those in the Fair Oaks Acres section of the North Fair Oaks neighborhood. The Fair Oaks Beautification Association is a big part of life in North Fair Oaks, Menlo Park.  This volunteer group’s projects include the traffic chicanes that keep traffic slow and calm on the streets and avenues that make up the North Fair Oaks neighborhood.

The 400 trees that line the neighborhood’s streets and avenues are also the work of the Fair Oaks Beautification Association, as is the neat and clean playground that the neighborhood children play in. Other projects include the community garden, the neighborhood-wide garage sale that is held each year and a number of annual social events and celebrations.  This association keeps all neighbors informed, involved, and motivated to participate in the neighborhood projects.

AA NFO 4Suburban Living at Its Best

Neighborhoods like North Fair Oaks are among the top reasons to live along the peninsula and in particular in Menlo Park. North Fair Oaks is a very walkable neighborhood. There’s a coffee shop, a library and many other small touches that make North Fair Oaks a pleasure to live in for adults and children alike. Homes for sale in North Fair Oaks tend to go quick, as this is a hot spot for young Silicon Valley tech professionals ready to settle down and raise families.

It is also a great place to raise kids, offering all the advantages of the suburban lifestyle with all of the urban conveniences just minutes away.  Quiet streets allow kids to bike ride and play without parents having to worry too much. There’s a good mix of people, ranging from tech professionals to teachers to artists.

AA NFO 6Finding the Right House

The architecture of the neighborhood is varied, with classic and modern homes intermingled gracefully.  Rarely do you see the same house or floor plan as the homes were not built as a tract – like most neighborhoods built after World War II.  Talking to an experienced Palo Alto/Menlo Park real estate agent or two is a good way to get a deeper understanding of the local North Fair Oaks real estate market. Local real estate agents also often have great connections in the neighborhood. Many get a bit of a heads up on upcoming homes for sale in North Fair Oaks.
